Poll Results--02/27/09--03/08/09

Hello all! Well, here are the poll results and a brief update. :-) Last week was insanely busy for me, and I completely forgot until the end of the week to put up a new quote for the week! Oh well! This week is also promising to be just as busy, maybe a little less so, but not by much. :-) Last week I enjoyed seeing a high school production of "Les Misérables" that had a couple of friends in it, and I was able to see a friend in her ice-skating competition, between that and working 30 hours last week, sorting pictures, and other responsibilities, blogging is just not working these days! :-) After seeing "Les Misérables" I am in the mood to read the book. :-) However, since it's a French novel, and they are notoriously long, I will probably have to hold off until the summer. :-) I may do some posts on that, if I ever do read it! Anyway, onward to the poll results!

First, thank you to all who participated! I think I got a couple of new voters on these polls and it was fun to see!

Would you like to see updates on what I'm doing on a regular basis?
Total of 4 votes

Yes............................................3 votes (75%)
No, they are irrelevant to the blog............0 votes (0%)
Don't care.....................................1 vote (25%)
What's an update? :-)..........................0 votes (0%)

Well, interesting, I'm glad that most of you enjoy my random updates I do. They are much easier than doing book reviews, and I can usually fit them into my schedule better. I will keep that in mind! :-)

Would you be interested in reading a summary of the marriage conference I attended in January?
Total of 5 votes

Yes...................4 votes (80%)
Not really.............1 vote (20%)
Don't care.............0 votes (0%)
I want a book review!.........0 votes (0%)

Wow! I wasn't quite expecting everyone to be so interested in my notes.:-) Once I get some time I will start working on getting something up here for you to review!

What would you like to see reviewed next?
Total of 4 votes

Finish Prince Caspian.....0 votes (0%)
The next chapter in Spiritual Disciplines.....0 votes (0%)
Noel Piper book.........................0 votes (0%)
Pleasing People..........................0 votes (0%)
Something by "The Dad".....................1 vote (25%)
Movie Review..................................0 votes (0%)
That Voice of the Martyrs book you promised us in November!.....3 votes (75%)

Hee! Well, yeah, I guess the Voice of the Martyrs book has been on my list to do long enough, between the marriage conference notes and this, I will try to have one or the other up this month! I really will try! :-) I will also see if Dad is up for doing an article soon. :-)

Thanks for all of you who participated! Hope you have a great week!

Poll Results--01/13/09--01/20/09

Hello all! Thank you for your votes on the polls! Here are the results!

Did you get any books for Christmas?
Total of 3 votes

Of Course!.......................1 vote (33%)
No!.......................0 votes (0%)
I got several!.......................1 vote (33%)
What's a book, and why would I want one? :-).........1 vote (33%)

Glad to see you all got some books! I also got some, haven't had a chance to read them, but I did get some! :-) (yes, they are are girly book, in case you wondered :-) )

My little note I had before the next poll questions...

New Polls!
Hello all! At long last I am doing polls, amazing! :-) I'd like to get some ideas about what you think about adding my Dad as a guest author or contributor to the blog. Also, I'd like to see if you like the idea, what you'd like to see him write. Thanks for your input and have a great day!

Do you think Dad should:
Total of 3 votes

Be a guest writer with article/reviews occasionally.......................0 votes (0%)
Be a contributor.......................3 votes (100%)
Not sure......................0 votes (0%)
Neither, keep things how they are!.......................0 votes (0%)
He should write one article, then ask me! :-).......................0 votes (0%)

Interesting, you all think Dad should be a contributor! Cool! I will have to let him know. :-) I probably will hold off for now, on actually adding him as a contributor, but I will start posting some articles, soon, I hope! :-)

If Dad contributes would you like him to: (you can choose more than one)
Total of 3 votes

Write book reviews/summaries..............1 votes (33%)
Review Systematic Theology from Sun. School..............2 votes (66%)
Write Theological/thought provoking articles..............3 votes (100%)
Something else (email with an idea)..............0 votes (0%)

So, everyone thinks Dad should write articles. :-) I hope to incorporate all three of these ideas at some point. The systematic theology will probably be on of the "easiest" to do on a regular basis. I'd love it if Dad can summarize some of the books he reads, that way I can get more books on here, without having to do all that reading first! :-) If Dad and I can come up with some good ideas for theological articles, we'll try to get those up too, especially since you all like that idea! :-)

If Dad contributes would you like to see it happen:
Total of 3 votes

Once a week.............3 votes (100%)
A couple times a week..............0 votes (0%)
Once a month........................0 votes (0%)
Twice a month.......................0 votes (0%)

Again, you all agree! Seems unusual. :-) Once a week sounds pretty good to me, but I'm not entirely sure what Dad will think of this idea. :-) If he does the Systematic Theology, that should work, since he has to do that once a week anyway. :-)

Thank you again for your participation! I'm glad to see that everyone seems favorable to having Dad contribute in some way. Next week, I have most of the week off, and in addition to doing some things around the house, I hope to get lots of blogging done! :-)

On another note, I apologize if you don't like my new "girly" background. :-) However, I was going to do pink with lots of hearts for Valentine's Day, but it seemed too busy, so be happy it's pink and brown and not pink and hearts! :-)

Until the next post, have a great week!

Amanda :-)

Poll Results--11/20/08--11/27/08

Hello all! I am finally getting around to posting these! :-) Thanks to those of you who voted, I'm not sure if everyone was busy or if the questions were too hard, but there weren't a whole lot of votes. (2 of these voters were siblings :-)) But that's okay and here are the results with some commentary from me! :-)

This is what I had written down before people voted on the polls:
Hello! In preparation for Thanksgiving, I thought I'd do some Thanksgiving polls. Hope you enjoy them! (oh, and on the ones about "what you're most thankful for," I realize, you would probably like to do "all of them," but I didn't give you that option! :-) )
Have a great Thanksgiving!

Which of these traits of God are you most thankful for this year?
Total of 3 votes

His Provision/Care................1 vote (33%)
His Love.................................. 0 votes (0%)
His Forgiveness/Patience.......1 vote (33%)
His Power..................................0 votes (0%)
His Sovereignty..........................1 vote (33%)

Evenly spread out here! I would probably have voted for His Provision/Care. I'm very thankful for that this year, since I have been job searching for 6 months, and God continues to provide. (through my family, giving me patience, seasonal work, etc.)

Which of these books of the Bible is the word Thanks/Thankful used the most times?
Total of 2 votes

Psalms.....................................2 votes (100%)
Proverbs..................................0 votes (0%)
Isaiah..................................0 votes (0%)
Romans..................................0 votes (0%)
Ephesians..................................0 votes (0%)
Colossians..................................0 votes (0%)

Hee! I think I scared people with this question. :-) I just went through my Strong's concordance and counted, so it's always possible I missed one. But at my count, the correct answer is Psalms! The words Thanks/Thankful were used 32 times.

Which of these books of the Bible is the word Thanks/Thankful used the least amount of times?
Total of 2 votes

Psalms.....................................0 votes (0%)
Proverbs..................................0 votes (0%)
Isaiah........................................1 vote (50%)
Romans..................................0 votes (0%)
Ephesians..................................0 votes (0%)
Colossians................................1 vote (50%)

The answer I was originally looking for here was Ephesians, Thanks/Thankful is used 3 times. However, if you were technical, Isaiah and Proverbs could be the right answer too, Thanks/Thankful are not used in those books. I just threw in those answers to confuse, but the real answer I wanted was Ephesians. :-)

Also, Romans has the words 4 times and Colossians 6 times.

And, just as a warning, it's very possible I missed something, so don't use this information as fact on an essay or something, be sure to check it out for yourself! (or find some computer program that actually counts it... :-) )

What are you most thankful for this year? (of course you’re thankful, for all of them)
Total of 3 votes

Family................................2 votes (66%)
Friends................................0 votes (0%)
Church................................0 votes (0%)
Animals :-).........................1 vote (33%)

Let's see, I probably would have voted for family too! Although, this would've been a really hard one to do! :-)

During Thanksgiving, do you go around the table and say what you’re most thankful for?
Total of 3 votes

Yes................................0 votes (0%)
No................................0 votes (0%)
Sometimes......................3 votes (100%)

Yep, my answer would be "sometimes" also! We don't do it very often, but we have in the past! :-)

What Thanksgiving side dish should always be on the table during Thanksgiving?
Total of 3 votes

Mashed potatoes................................2 votes (66%)
Sweet potatoes................................0 votes (0%)
Cranberry dish................................1 vote (33%)
Stuffing................................0 votes (0%)
Corn................................0 votes (0%)
Rolls (or sweet bread)................................0 votes (0%)
Green bean casserole................................0 votes (0%)
Something else (please tell me what, if you choose this!)............0 votes (0%)

Interesting! Mashed potatoes has the most votes, only by one though. :-) I would've voted for rolls or sweet bread, I love bread kind of stuff, so to me that's the most important. :-) However, all those items seem like they should be around on Thanksgiving. :-)

Thanks for all of the votes! I hope to post an update or a book review soon! Feel free to "comment" on this post and let me know what you would've voted on if you didn't get a chance to vote.

Have a great day!

Anyway, thanks again, and have a great week!

Hee! After reading the few responses I got on the three sets of book questions, it confirms my suspicions that the average reader doesn't read many of the book reviews, and I should shorten them. :-) Now, if I could just figure out how.... :-)

What has been your favorite non-fiction book review blog post(s)?

Thanks for the input here! I figured if I got tired of seeing previous polls, you were too! :-) I still may keep them up for a day or two longer, ironically, no one voted for that, but it seems like a good option to me. :-)

Would you mind if the current polls were moved down further on the screen?
Total of 6 votes

No I wouldn't mind............................... 0 votes (0%)
Yes! Keep the polls where they are!..................2 votes (33%)

Don't care. :-)..................................4 votes (66%)

Hee! Interesting, I think I will end up moving the polls down a little bit, not much, but some. I sort of want some of the "more important" items up at the top, and since most of you don't care, I will probably switch it. :-)

How often do you like to see the background changed?

Well, I know two of these voters were siblings, sorry Andrew, but changing a background once a week is too much in my opinion! Even though you do like it! Maybe at Christmas time I will do that. :-) My personal favorite is to change the background twice a month. :-) I shall ignore Sarah who voted on the answer, "what's a background?" :-) Once a month is a good choice too, although, I still like a little more variety personally. :-)

Should the music?:

Change all the songs..................................2 votes (40%)

What music? :-)..................................2 votes (40%)

Well, if you, ahem, noticed, I did change all the songs. :-) I will probably change them once a month. I can't wait until Christmas! Woo! Think of all the fun classical Christmas songs, very fun! :-)

Have a great week all! More polls will show up soon, if I can think of some questions! :-)

Poll Results--10/25/08--11/01/08

Hello! Here are the latest poll results! Thanks for participating!

Are you tired of Narnia polls?
Total of 7 votes

Yes.........3 votes (42%)
No.........4 votes (57%)

Hee! I mentioned before in a "Note on Blogging," that I am also tired of Narnia polls. Thanks to those who aren't though! I should have some more Narnia polls again when I review the rest of the Narnia series. Enjoy the break though! :-)

Who is your favorite human character in, "The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe?
Total of 6 votes

Peter...............1 vote (16%)
Susan.............0 votes (0%)
Edmund........0 votes (0%)
Lucy...............1 vote (16%)
The Professor...........4 votes (66%)
Mrs. Macready...........0 votes (0%)

Wow! The Professor wins! I like the professor a lot too! I would have a hard time deciding between the Professor and Lucy though. :-) I like the Professor better in the books though, he's a little "blah" in the movie. :-)

Who is your favorite Narnia Character?
Total of 6 votes

Aslan.........................3 votes (50%)
Mr. Tumnus............1 vote (16%)
The Beavers............2 votes (33%)
The White Witch.........................0 votes (0%)
Father Christmas.........................0 votes (0%)
One of the Witch's "evil helpers".........................0 votes (0%)
Another Narnia animal/character.........................0 votes (0%)
Someone else.........................0 votes

Again, I would have trouble voting on these myself...the three that were chosen would be the ones I would decide on though. :-) Probably it would be between Aslan and the Beavers. :-)

What is your favorite part in the 2005 movie production?
Total of 6 votes

The beginning.........................0 votes (0%)
Lucy discovering Narnia............1 vote (16%)
Edmund and the Witch............0 votes (0%)
The four children getting into Narnia...............0 votes (0%)
The beavers.........................2 votes (33%)
The intense chase or battle scenes.........................1 vote (16%)
Aslan's death and coming back to life...............1 vote (16%)
The ending..................0 votes (0%)
Some other part.........................1 vote (16%)

Favorite parts, let's see, well, I know Sarah voted for Lucy discovering Narnia, but she said her real favorite part is when the four kids are friends and their interaction with Aslan. Andrew voted for some other part, and his favorite part is when Edmund is rescued and turned good. :-) Now, what would be my favorite part, hmm, I don't know. :-) Watching Aslan's death and coming back to life was very powerful to me the first time we watched it in theatres, so maybe that. But I love it when Lucy first gets into Narnia and sees all the snow! Very cool! :-) And you all probably know by now that the battle scenes etc. were not my favorite part! :-)

What should the next post be about?
Total of 7 votes

Prince Caspian...............3 votes (42%)
Second part in "Spiritual Disciplines"...............2 votes (28%)
Voice of the Martyrs book, about 8 different women...............2 votes (28%)
Something about me......................................0 votes (0%)
Something else (email with a suggestion)..................0 votes (0%)

You voters like to be really close to tied! I wanted to do the Voice of the Martyrs book next, but I am still trying to figure out the best way to summarize that. It's a little challenging. Hopefully this week. I might get to Prince Caspian this week too, not sure yet. I needed a break from Narnia last week though. :-) If I don't get to either Prince Caspian or the Voice of the Martyrs book this week, I will be doing another section in Spiritual Disciplines. :-)

Thanks again for voting! It's a lot of fun for me to see what you like! Have a great week!

Poll Results--10/18/08--10/25/08

Hello all! Thanks again for participating in my last poll! Oh, and by the way, I never vote on my own polls, in case you wondered. :-) Here are the results... :-)

Continuing on with Narnia Polls...
Okay! Here are a few more Narnia Polls. I will post more polls about the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe when I actually review it. In the meantime...

Trivia: Have you ever tried Turkish Delight? (yes, it is a real dessert)
Total of 5 votes

Yes!....................................................0 votes (0%)
No!.......................................................4 votes (80%)
I had it, and it was terrible!.................1 vote (20%)
I had it, and I loved it!...........................0 votes (0%)

Interesting! Well, I'm not surprised that most of you have never tried Turkish Delight. Mom bought it once from the grocery store. (my sister Sarah voted that it was terrible :-)) I honestly can't remember if I tried it. :-) Sarah, Mom, and I think Josh, all tried it. Sarah and Mom thought it was so horrible, that I think I wasn't brave enough to taste it. :-) (we won't go into the dramatic details of what Sarah did) It was a rose flavored Turkish Delight. If I remember correctly, they declared it to taste like soap or lotion, something horrible. :-) So, if you ever want to try it...I recommend you go with a different flavor other than rose!

Which of the following Narnia movie productions have you seen?
You were able to pick more than one on this poll, and there were a total of 5 voters

The most recent ones...................................................5 votes (100%)
The old British ones......................................................4 votes (80%)
Some random cartoon one they had ages ago..............3 votes (60%)
None of them.................................................................0 votes (0%)

Wow! I'm impressed that 3 of you have seen the cartoon one! I could barely remember if they really made one or not. :-) I believe I've seen all of the productions. (not that I remember them all that well) :-)

Which of the Narnia movie productions did you like best?
Total of 5 votes

The most recent ones.............................................3 votes (60%)
The old British ones....................................................1 votes (20%)
Some random cartoon one they had ages ago..............1 votes (20%)
I've never seen any of them............................................0 votes (0%)
All the productions are terrible!.....................................0 votes (0%)

Interesting! I'm not surprised that the most recent movie productions won! :-) I am surprised someone liked the cartoon so well though. :-)

Comparing the new & old movie productions, would you say:
Total of 3 votes

The new productions are better and "way cooler"
with all the graphics, better actors, etc................................2 votes (66%)
The old British films are better because
they stayed closer to the books (i.e. were more accurate).........1 vote (33%)
Narnia is timeless, any production is good!.................................0 votes (0%)

Interesting, this is sort of hard question, so I'm glad I didn't have to vote on it. :-) I would probably have voted for "Narnia is timeless, any production is good!" I will have to re-watch the old movies again though, to actually have an accurate vote. :-) When I re-watch them, I'll let you know what I think. :-)

Thanks again for participating! Have a great week and look for more polls soon!

Poll Results--10/11/08--10/18/08

Thank you all for your participation on the last poll! It was interesting! Here were the questions and the results. (oh, and some commentary from me :-) )

Who is your favorite character in "The Magician's Nephew"?

This poll had a total of 7 votes:

Aslan...................................1 vote (14%)
Digory...................................1 vote (14%)
Polly...................................1 vote (14%)
Uncle Andrew...................2 votes (28%)
Queen Jadis......................0 votes (0%)
The Narnia Animals............1 vote (14%)
Someone else........................1 vote (14%)

Wow! A variety of opinions here! Hmmm, I'm not sure who my favorite character is, maybe Digory. :-) The real question is though, did the same person vote twice for Uncle Andrew?? Or are there really 2 people out there who like him the best? Strange! :-)

Which of the following have you read?

This poll was a multiple choice one, and there were a total of 7 voters.

(voters did have the following information before voting: Even if you've only read part of the series on the "which of these have you read" poll, you can still choose that series)

The Chronicles of Narnia........................3 votes (42%)
Lord of the Rings Series........................5 votes (71%)
Space Trilogy--C.S. Lewis........................0 votes (0%)
All of the above........................................0 votes (0%)
None of the above..............................0 votes (0%)

Interesting! More people have read Lord of the Rings versus Narnia! I've read both. I also have not read the Space Trilogy. Hmmm, maybe I should read that and review it sometime! Then all of us will learn something new! :-)

Which of the following series did you enjoy the most?

This poll had a total of 7 votes.

The Chronicles of Narnia........................3 votes (42%)
Lord of the Rings Series........................4 votes (57%)
Space Trilogy--C.S. Lewis........................0 votes (0%)
I hated them all........................................0 votes (0%)
I've never read any of them......................0 votes (0%)

Interesting! Almost a tie here, hmm, my readers all seem to enjoy Lord of the Rings more. Huh, I guess we will have to agree to disagree on that, I enjoy Narnia more! :-)

Thanks again and have a great week!

Poll Results--10/02/08--10/09/08

Thank you for those who participated in the latest polls! I appreciate all the input as you help me make the blog better! I will probably do similar polls at the beginning of every month, to give you a chance to vote again. :-) Okay...so here are the results and some, ahem, "commentary" from me. :-)

How often do you visit?

There were a total of 7 votes:

Daily..........................................................1 vote (14%)
Once a week.............................................3 votes (42%)
Three or more times a week...................2 votes (28%)
Once a month............................................1 vote (14%)
Never :-)...................................................0 votes (0%)
I'm new and I'm not sure yet :-)............0 votes (0%)

How often would you like to see books reviewed?

There were a total of 6 votes:

Daily..........................................................2 votes (33%)
Once a week.............................................3 votes (50%)
Three or more times a week...................1 vote (16%)
Once a month............................................0 votes (0%)
Never :-)...................................................0 votes (0%)
I'm new and I'm not sure yet :-)............0 votes (0%)

I found it interesting that I had two votes for books to be reviewed daily and yet only one vote that someone visits daily! However, I do find it somewhat time consuming to review a book a day, so I may go down to 3 or more times a week in the future. I was surprised that once a week got the most votes! Thanks for those votes, but I probably won't do a book a week for awhile. :-)

What are your favorite part(s) of the blog?

This poll allowed you to vote on multiple choices. There were a total of 7 votes.

The book reviews..................... 2 votes (28%)

Scripture of the week.................. 1 vote (14%)

Quote of the week...................... 3 votes (42%)

Polls............................................. 4 votes (57%)

Music........................................... 1 vote (14%)

Something else.............................. 2 votes (28%)

Wow! Polls win! I actually love the polls too, and the quote of the week. Hmm I think I need to work on my book reviews more though, since that's what the blog is about! :-)

Help me evaluate my book reviews...are they:

This poll had a total of 4 votes.

Perfect! Keep book reviews how they are..............1 vote (25%)

Too long! You're giving too many details &

spoiling the book for me.........................................1 vote (25%)

So-So! Do a mixture between long and short reviews............1 vote (25%)

Terrible! Review movies instead. :-)...........................0 votes (0%)

Other! Do more current books, don't you read anything

that wasn't written in the 1800s? :-)...............1 vote (25%)

Well, this wasn't overly helpful! No one wins! :-) So, I guess I will just keep all those in mind for future reference. :-) Thank you though to whoever thinks the reviews are perfect.... :-)

If I could add something to your blog, I'd like to see:
This poll had 6 votes, another multiple choice one.

Books that aren't so girly :-).............................4 votes (66%)
Movie Reviews.....................................................1 vote (16%)
More discussion questions...................................1 vote (16%)
Have more stuff about you and you're family.....1 vote (16%)

Wow! Books that aren't so girly wins! By a wide margin too! Ahem, I don't know if I should be honored that guys are reading my blog, horrified that the girls think the books or too girly, or disgusted that you think late 1800s and early 1900s fiction is "girly!" :-) (joking)
Anyway, I will keep that in mind for future book reviews. :-)
Movie reviews...I know my brother voted on that. :-) That may come in the future, but probably not for awhile.
Something else...hmm, never did get any emails on that! :-)

Thank you again for your participation! It was very helpful! Have a great week!

Birthday Blog Continued...read poll results and learn more about me!

Hi! Thanks for all of you who voted on my random birthday poll questions! :-) Here are the results, I will give the correct answers and some background behind the questions after each poll results.

What birthday cake did I have every year between the ages of 13--20?

White/Vanilla..................................1 vote (20%)

Chocolate..........................................0 vote (0%)

Pumpkin............................................3 votes (60%)

How would I know? :-)......................1 vote (20%)

The correct answer is pumpkin cake! Congratulations to pumpkin voters you won! :-)
I do like white/vanilla cake and that was a good guess. Also, I am not a huge fan of chocolate...everyone must have known that! :-) The answer "how would I know" was put in for all the people who like to be difficult.... :-)

Now you may ask...so what birthday cakes have you had since then? Here are those answers:

20--White Chocolate Fudge Cake
21--Lane Cake (old fashioned Southern cake--technically a Christmas cake)
22--Double Coconut Cake
23--Carmel Apple Spice Cake

Next poll:

What unique gift(s) was I given in the past?

Trampoline..................................................0 votes (0%)

Fancy Letter Opener.................................1 vote (25%)

Fortune Cookies..........................................1 vote (25%)

Sewing machine..........................................3 votes (75%)

Pet Snake......................................................0 votes (0%)

This is a weird question...............................1 vote (25%)

The answers:
I was never given a trampoline or a pet snake...in fact, I don't like snakes at all!
I was given a fancy letter opener (on my 19th birthday I believe--by my kind, generous, and usually nice, younger sister :-) )
I have been give fortune cookies several times over the years on birthdays and Christmases--also given by my sister. (this will be explained in the next poll result)
I was given a sewing machine by Mom and Dad on my 18th birthday. :-) (I still have yet to actually learn the art of sewing though....my skills are minimal. :-) )
And yes it was a rather weird question. :-)

What birthday did the "Amanda is going to China" joke start?

15..............1 vote (20%)

16...............1 vote (20%)

17..............1 vote (20%)

18..............0 votes (0%)

19.............1 vote (20%)

20.............0 votes (0%)

21.............1 vote (20%)

22.............0 votes (0%)

Ironically, everyone was wrong on this poll! (including my own sister who started the whole thing! :-) )

The joke technically started the summer I was 17, but I didn't start getting the presents until my 18th birthday, so technically, 17 is sort of right. :-) But the real answer is 18.

Now you are probably wondering, what joke? :-)

The summer I was 17 our church had the teens/young people do VBS. I was in charge of reading the missionary story every night at the end of the program. :-) The missionaries featured were John and Betty Stam---who were missionaries (and martyrs) to China.
So....now the interesting part begins. My, ahem, as I as said, "usually nice" sister decided for some strange reason, to start this thing saying that "Amanda is going to be a missionary to China." All because I did a story on missionaries to China! As a result--I was and continue to be given "Chinese" presents on birthdays and Christmases. Examples--a hand guide to learning Chinese, Chinese cookbooks, fortune cookies, a Chinese necklace, fan, chop sticks, a tea set, a tea cozy--and that's just a few of the things! The joke, I thought was finally dying down, however, for my birthday this year I got "Chinese red tea cookies." (I still need to try them :-) )

For the record--I'm not fond of Chinese food and have no plans to become a missionary to China. :-)

As a result of this joke, my sister has managed to spread it around to some friends at our church, and they have also given me Chinese presents! In fact, Sarah reminded me, that one friend actually had a dream about me teaching English to Chinese kids at Jungle Jims! (local store)
Needless to say....any time we have a missionary at church from China or someone TALKS about China...those who know about the joke all look at me and smirk. :-)

So now you know!

Hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about me. :-)

Oh, and yes, I did have a very nice birthday yesterday! Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

Until my next post...

Amanda the old :-)
